He's not an extrovert but that doesn't mean he doesn't want friends. He doesn't want to be the center of attention, speaking loudly during break times. He values smaller groups where he can actually think and speak; it's why his conversations with the FMC and his sister go so smoothly. He can suffer his way through HS alone but a bit of bitter medicine to help him find connections that he'd actually enjoy would help him.

99% of people want friends, and no you aren't that 1%. People don't want to be alone, they want to express their ideas and be heard. Even MangaDex and Crunchyroll have comment sections. 🤷‍♂️

Not true anymore unfortunately. Having friends that you don’t really enjoy being with is much worse than not having any friends. I’m not sure how thorough he was in his first try to find some good friends but it’s ok to find nobody

But Crunchyroll doesn't have a comment section anymore.

Naw dude, I agree with that first thing you said. But what you said has ALWAYS been true.

Having friends you don't want to spend time with is draining. But that doesn't mean people don't want to have friends period. Friends that respect their time and who they are; Even if they don't have the same interests and hobbies.

Having friends doesn't mean you have to do everything together, it doesn't mean you have to spend everyday with them. It means different things to different people and at different times but at the core, it means you have someone who cares (even if they ain't that good at it yet).

Part of maturing is learning to know where YOU are at and what type of friendship you can handle at a given time, it's not running away (ask me how I know).

Having to spend time with people who you don’t like spending time with just so you have someone who “cares” about you is kind of stupid I think. To each their own though.

I wonder if he's in denial or if it's just depression? Or maybe just a form of ADHD.

Like, he simply doesn't have the energy to spare on things that drain him like managing relationship.
