Most of the stuff that would "imply" a non-consentual relationship are immediately followed up with flashbacks that immediately contradict this.

It's not a "rape trope", it's an "in denial trope". She doesn't wanna admit she has the gay for her. It's common trope used in yuri. Stop jumping the gun and chill tf out, damn.

I aint gonna rationalize rape, with the lack of consent. The circumstances are interesting though. We don't know that mana transfer had to go beyond biting or kissing yet, or if it adds any extra drug effects. And the knight's fate shows she wasn't ultimately holding the reins on the captive or the mission. Culpability and agency are unclear. And seeing good times and views of relationships tainted by trauma (maybe justly so) is really realistic.

The style has been delightful but I can't take bodice ripper plots where a victim willingly goes back to an abuser... I don't think this is one of those. It seems wiser about the comfort women circumstances, but it better not turn omegaversey.

It's more an issue of why the saintess feels she didn't give consent, and believing her, than if there was rape and a war's worth of complex PTSD. That's just how slave romance and huge power differential is; even slight or well-intentioned pressure can cross over into heartbreaking coercion. Rachel also seems to have been used and executed as an object, this isn't an indictment of her. So two slaves, I think.

Trigger words aside this really seems to be a couple reincarnated from an arranged marriage hundreds of years ago and how more freedom and awareness changes wooing. I think people understand that the trauma is real (thus rape) AND that ex-Elysia is misplacing systemic blame onto Rachel.

I hope Rachel actually has to shoulder some of the blame for what happened instead of handwaving it by saying that they were both just forced into the roles or something, because there definitely could have been other ways, and Rachel so far has acted like she’s owed that from MC

And I mean clearly the best way to resolve that is for MC to show the turn tables and put Rachel on a leash. I swear

I sorta expect some sort of flip in their previous circumstances.

Because that'd be a clue-in for Rachel, it would fit the contextof her being a dog(person) in a now-mundane world (like, if she goes outside disguised as a dog, I suspect she'll need to be a leash, legally, so), and it would flip the dynamic between them, giving Elysia the power this time, leading to more nuance in their relationship.

At present, Elysia holds all the cards; that right there is a role reversal. I suspect that's part of the point of how this has been set up.

Someone makes a claim about you that you don't think is true, and instead of simply saying "yeah that's not actually correct, but whatever" you jump straight to using 'schizophrenia' as a means to disparage them.
So many ways you could have gone about refuting or discrediting their statement and you chose "yeah you're mentally unwell" in a rather condescending manner.

Then again, I don't think I've ever seen a comment from you that wasn't negative, critical, or insulting toward either the chapter being discussed or other people in the thread, anywhere on this site--so at the risk of being passive-aggressive myself, maybe that's just who you are.
