Damn, at first I thought from the first chapter that the boss was being pushy but reasonable (since all the points he made back then made sense) and MC wasn't being assertive enough, and the knights talking behind her back were pitying her but were unable to do anything about it because of their gap in position/standing. But this? This cements it. They're all assholes.

At the very least, I hope the knights come to appreciate her instead of thinking she betrayed them. The boss, on the other hand, is too far gone for peace to be an option.

Most probably it was a manipulation. It's easier to force someone to do something they don't want if you can convince them that it's a logical choice, and you actually give a damn about them.
