Is this story AI generated? The plot is being dropped and picked up again quicker than a hot potato and none of the characters make any sense at all. They betray the company and blow up their partnership just to continue on like literally nothing happened? What? And what's with this schizophrenic plot progression? Nomomoto just randomly helping out an alien and chugging more food creates new story how? And we are already getting the pay off for the "my parents are dead" plot? Either this shit is getting axed or the author forget their meds, holy shit.

they didn’t exactly betrayed the company Since they mostly were forced to work with them in the first place and the company still wants them for the ability to hide alien bodies. I’m also sure backbone didn’t tell glasses how the nomo casually betrayed them over food either since that would look bad on her part too.
nomomoto Has been established as motivated solely by her appetite she will do anything if given food, and it’s not a random alien it’s her annoying neighbour, showing again that she only cares about filling her stomach.
as to finding the killer already, ya that’s alittle random thou it’s possible the author did it create a dilemma for the main guy.
it would be harder for him to escape scrutiny if he kills this alien right away and even if he did would the motivation to keep killing remain after avenging his family.

Iunno, the story made sense to me. Nomamoto is just written as an extremely carefree character who from time to time would ponder her own lack of goals just to be distracted by more food. The relationship between the company and the duo is addled with distrust and aims of personal gain since the start, so they're keeping a facade that nothing is wrong. The tailing sidequest is just a plot device for Nomamoto's inner monologue. Though I will agree that Kitami's story is progressing quicker than I expect.

The writing is unconventional, sure but everything is still consistent. And is still interesting enough to earn my attention at the very least

Friendly reminder that Nomamoto in the first chapter hates the aliens just as much Kitame does and just sees eating food as a bonus. And a scupulous murder company probably doesn't want the risk of people whistleblowing at a heart beat if offered food, no matter how good their disposal method is.

We've got specific motivations of hungry, revenge, and money- yet somehow the plot is nonsensical. I'm not even seeing the hint of a throughline or theme. Is this all just supposed to be character introduction, with a real plot starting in a few chapters?

no idea if its getting axed or not, but it needs more world building. The aliens look like filler. They probably made them look cartoony to tone down the gore but the best part of a gore manga is ... the gore. Its super weird to write about two murderers who canibalice their victims while doing everything's that possible so that it doesn't look violent

You might want to read it again, cause you might have missed the part where she equates her hatred towards aliens with her hatred towards couples that uses pet names.
Her hatred only goes as far as mild annoyance. Kitami only thought she was the same as him.

Murder company definitely wanted to control the disposal method, was worth the risk for them in the last few chapters at least.
