It's so bloody annoying that Akira has suddenly turned into a 100% helpless civilian in the middle of the fight. During this whole chapter, he did absolutely nothing but inconvenience the others. He's like a glass cannon that can do certain things others can't, but he seems utterly incapable of protecting himself even for a few seconds, which would allow the others to fully concentrate on attacking, not defending him. He needs a combination of Prussian and Spartan training regimen to make himself truly useful in a serious fight.

This is one of the longest fights ever, feels like it has taken over 30 chapters and over a year (in reality it is merely 15 chapters and over 3 months), and the mc has done pretty much jackshit besides some mild ranged attacks (which he seems to have given up on doing ever since the guy stopped summoning "gravitypillars").

But yes, I also feel like that is his best trick and something he absolutely should have figured out how to do again, by now. The nerf felt entirely author-forced to allow to force the plot in their desired direction, and more than that, like a nerf that he should absolutely have tried to figure out a solution to (and likely succeeded too). If nothing else, surely he has a huge (or at least small) stash of them buried somewhere, "just-in-case", if he noticed he back even before he met the heroine truly noticed he's dependent on paper manufacturing. So could just pull one or two out of his pockets.

The author either is bad at drawing background fights and because of that doesn't show Akira still fighting off some oder and firing off his summoned spears, or he really is just making Akira useless and just gawk at the current fight.

Fuck you author, just fuck you, 100% of the chapters is the characters with open mouth, and Akira, the MC, one of the strongest persons there, doing NOTHING, just standing, the chapter is 100% mouth open, people thinking, Akira doing nothing, and the author prolonging the battle to a point where is just useless and boring

Appreciate the effort scanlating the gaps, gents. But I gotta say, I already forgot who this chick was! All too common with IDY...

I know this chapter literally takes place in the span of a couple seconds irl, but man it feels SO laggy. It’s supposed to come off as a fast-paced battle, but all it’s doing is making Akira and Agnes look fucking useless.

The mangaka is usually decent at doing fight scenes, but all he has to do is put in a few speech bubbles from Akira saying “I can’t keep up-!” or “I can’t see their movements???” with a pained look to explain why Akira appears to just be standing around slack-jawed. But no, it’s coming across as basically a turn-based RPG.

Thanks for the translation! I really want to read the new stuff as the Pansylvanian arc is really heating up on the raw side.

Like it’d be one thing if he said or did anything that showed that it was his lack of experience in a real battle that caused him to panic or something, but it really looks like he’s just the shittiest member of their team, not only not helping but being an active hindrance.

If it weren’t for the art, I would’ve already dropped this shit. I actually read this chapter before, but I had to re read from the beginning because I forgot the story. Still, this really makes me tempted to drop this garbage.

The problem is that the enemy is an anomaly with attacks that far exceed Akira's perception by a very huge speed gap. Duke, Katia and Medis are the only characters on the battlefield that have been able to block or dodge his attacks, every other character on the battlefield gets killed in one panel. This is also Akira's first time ever engaging in a battle to the death, he's done pretty fucking well all things considered 😭
