Theory, what if the reason Akira's item drawing ability isn't working because of the same rules that his summon abilities abide by; he was drawing up an item that doesn't exist, or rather doesn't exist anymore.
Elixirs might have been extremely rare when he was a child, but now that he is an adult Elixirs have ran out and he isn't able to draw it anymore.
Aside from Elixirs, he hasn't drawn anything else. Maybe this red potion still exist, and he might be able to draw it.
Elixirs exist as a concept in that world, which is why he could draw them. They are man-made consumables anyway. They exist, whether they are in stock or not. In RL, a certain candy manufacturer could have made a particular chocolate bar from 1980 to 2010. Then for some reason they decided to drop it from the selection. Being a perishable consumable, they would cease to exist in a physical form at some point, most eaten, the rest spoiled. However, in 2025 the manufacturer could reintroduce the exact same snack, due to lots of people all the time posting on social media how they miss it, suggesting there would be a strong demand. Suddenly it would again exist concretely, by the thousands.
Monsters turned into swords also don't exist in that world, presumably. Yet Akira can summon such things.
This whole issue is purely artificial because the author noticed it's too powerful an ability to be able to summon universal cures as much as the MC wants. Normally a person would go all out to search for a solution, but Akira has done no such thing. Apparently he tried a few times with the same old parchaments, but when it produced no results, he gave up. He didn't try to use monster hide parchaments, stone tablets, you name it, to try to deal with it. He just gave up. Because it isn't a real lore obstacle, it's the author putting a stop to it in order to keep the story going.
