Welp, I didn't expect this to turn in one of those house flipping shows.
I think it's beyond proven that Kanae shouldn't try to make money in a way that involves cognitive activity, but I think it's a shame they gave up on the other art approaches that quickly. Turns out Kanae really is skilled at something. Sure, the actual concept could use some improvements, but isolated from that, her craftsmanship is very good. And that's the far harder thing to get right, as pointed out by others...
Renovating a house on the other hand, for the biggest part, doesn't exactly require a lot of artistic talent. It's primarily manual labour and know-how.

In any case, I hope this works out as "well" as FX, because if Kanae gets a job outside of the house, she'll become as invisible as the idol.
Or maybe everyone ends up having to make way for the sugar baby anyway
