There was a time I came to dislike many anime series, it was at a point in the last decade. After a time, I realised the problem was not the series themselves, but the site I was watching them. Some pirate streaming sites are truly bad, but worse was Crunchyroll.

Looked at the cover, it's bunch of girls, so I think "oh, this one is a harem hentai". Read first chapter and the girls were fucking with pigs. Thinking "maybe it just some problem with the uploader" I read to chapter 3. They were fucking dogs, pigs, and horses.
Most memorable scene was, the new college girl wore a horse riding costume, but only the boots and the helmet, other girls complimented how beautiful she is, then she crawled under the horse, put his penis in, and let's the horse run in it track in the middle of the night.
There were more chapters, but I noped.

And from that i found out beastiality, and some people thinking having sex with animals are hot, unironically.

oh yeah, I was spoiled for this one, by somebody who really thought "well if you still haven't watched it it's your fault and you deserve it"

I had to check who was who, well, shit happens. There are many ships in the series, I don't mind leaving some for the fandom.
Regarding @TheTopAdventure 's trauma, I still can't assimilate how frequently they choose the worst character to end the series, I guess they like losing and are clearly masochists. Or maybe they learnt from their bombers about shit taste?

i haven't, but i'm sure it is better-paced. the show had to cram 9 volumes into 12 episodes after all.

I remember when Youjo Senki was aired for the first time, I checked it and I could only stand the first scene, as it was a bunch of preposterous non-sense. That year or the next one's doujinshi made me doubt what the series was about. Later, probably a year ago, I decided to give the manga a try and it cured me with lots of loli content. Recommending a long manga (adaptation) is not a smart move, so I may give it a try again to see if I watch it together with my usual gang.

I remembered an obligatory mention. Experiencing the end of Berserk 1997 was disturbing as a young noob.

The English dub made it much better/worse, somehow more mysterious and dark. On its own, that Anime is a fever dream when you get into it blindly.
