How do you know those contracts were magic?
My assumption based on how they worded it, but it seems they read the LN or WN and it went into more details for this interaction. Don't think that would count as spoilers since it is just adding some context to this scene from another source.

About this early reveal, I feel like one reason for an early reveal is to tell about how dangerous leaving them alone can be. That the fate of the world is literally at stake, and not just a new place to get resources is important for more people to know.

I read the first 3 volumes of the LN. I just forgot that it wasn't mentioned here in the manga, sorry (spoilers I guess).
Basically the JP gov't goes on to use those on everyone who goes into the dungeons to stop them from hiding anything they get inside. Some of the stuff is rather lewd and dangerous. Mind control potions and such like. Suppose that was kind of obvious from how Akane acts.

And that's why he had them sign the contracts first. They can't talk without his permission due to those contracts. I think the manga kinda glossed over what those do actually. If you've got a magical contract, don't hesitate to use it to protect yourself. (If you don't have a magical contract: Never in writing and always in cash.)

Thanks for the chapter.
Makes sense the contract is magical in nature, if it was just a standard NDA no one would give a fuck, much less an army official lmao
