What I think would have been better...

1. Untested theoretical magic circle that activates upon death of its maker.
2. Targets the species that killed the caster.
3. Turns all males into females, thus dooming (at least in theory) that species to extinction.

Loopholes...

• Men with incredibly high magic resistance. (The MC for example)
• Unborn babies that have not yet reached the stage of becoming male. (7 or 8 weeks after conception)

This would not only satisfy the incredibly high ratio of women to men, but also prevent the total collapse of civilization (because billions of vital jobs wouldn't suddenly become unstaffed). Granted there would still be chaos for a while.

Most importantly (for people that enjoy the "high female ratio" fantasy) it would double the number of "females" available.

yeah 1:1000 is so drastic a ratio that it wouldn't be sexy. Humanity would be extinct within 2 generations, or say 80-100 years.

unless society immediately implemented mandatory reproduction at a 1:50 ratio, society would have collapsed in the 20 years he was missing in the dungeon, with 90% dead within 30 years or so.
