Did you not get it? The point she was making was that he was holding back against her. That's why she said that his nature as a normal person, not a killer, is why he lost. Killing the mooks took a severe psychological toll on him and killing a close friend wasn't really something he could bring himself to do when at his best. Basically, she abused her relationship with him.

I think what she's tryna say is that compared to all the hero's party, al is a dedicated and talented mage, viola is a trained and seasoned soldier, and noah was probably a sister of the cloth. And thats how they grew as people from their upbringing. Blum on the other hand is just and average joe from an orphanage who was unlucky enough to be compatible with the sword and survive the selection process. He was niether built to be a warrior or a killer, yet is forced to be
