I'm going to refrain from eating crows, just to be sure.
Well, it's not that much of a commitment. Where I live, there's plenty of crows, but nobody eats them. Even people who hunt them out of racist hatred.
A lot of human cultures have taboos against eating scavengers. It can make sense not to eat something that has itself been eating dead people. That is exactly the kind of route through which parasites are transferred.

Personally I wouldn't eat corvids not only because I don't eat birds in general.... but because I tend to get along well with them... well... except magpies.

@tgb089 - I'd say eating sapient beings is bad, even if they're biologically very far from you. For the same reasons as cannibalism.
Of course, if you're so bad you don't mind cannibalism, eating other kinds of sapient life is fine too.
Fish-type merfolk are clever enough to use tools, which puts them in "sapient beings" category, so eating them is bad.
Could be like eating chimps. It would feel so strange and immoral to eat a chimp

Laius got no problem eating any monsters even if they're intelligent or human-like.

@flannan Crows and monkeys are known to use stones and sticks as tools. Eating a monkey? Maybe demi-human. Eating a bird? Definitely not demi-human.

Are those fishhthingies eggs considered demi-human tho? I mean they're fish-like eggs and not fetuses so I'd consider them not.
Maybe I'm just weird and really like crows, but I'd feel REALLY BAD if I had to eat a crow... Not necessarily worse than eating a monkey (since their physiology makes me think of humans), but definitely worse than any non-intelligent animal aside from, like, cats or dogs.
