But they aren't there anymore. They have been captured by Enyo. They are wherever Enyo is holding them. Logic dictates Enyo is holding them somewhere under his control, which is probably within the destruction zone, but there is a possibility it's somewhere else. We do know monsters were exported outside of the city, after all. It would be a gamble to maintain a significant base/presence further away, though, for something running a clandestine operation for so long.

That's a good point about the monster horde afterwards. Makes the deal even worse.
They're not being contained anywhere. Demeter's whole familia going missing all at once would be kinda suspicious, no? It's more the implied threat of "no matter where you are, i can take away what is precious to you". Trauma's a real factor, even when you are a god.

demeter being enyo doesn't make any sense. if you read up on greek mythos you would see why the likelihood of demeter being enyo makes no sense but why her being manipulated does. i try to avoid doing so because for as loosely based as danmachi is on the real mythology of the characters, it does tend to spoil things. danmachi takes way more from the myths than people give it credit for.

Okay that's fine, but then there should have been clues in the story that it wasn't her and might be someone else. We've had chapters and chapters of build up everyone going through multiple people, multiple well set clues, etc, and it finally narrowed down to the least suspicious (actually felt well telegraphed since games like TiTT and Among Us rely on that kind of social manipulation) person actually felt good.

Having Demeter just be another pawn (why is she even necessary for any of the plan at this point other than just to make it more complicated?) in a reveal with no foreshadowing feels like an asspull.

Unless the manga is about to explain a TON of foreshadowed clues I just didn't get, then this reveal just feels dumb.

there were no real clues pointing to her being enyo to begin with. there were plenty of clues pointing to dionysius being enyo before the sudden death.
but i wouldn't rule him out just yet since some parts of the greek mythos identify him as hades in disguise attempting to trick demeter to do his bidding.

Hmm, only issue with this scenario is... Demeter could just use her full power for a few seconds and obliterate Enyo's mortal form, causing both of them to be sent back to the heavens. That would cause her familia to lose power as the falna is sealed, but that would give them a chance to escape and survive. Would be hard for the city too, foodwise, with her suddenly gone, but I still think it would probably be better than just agreeing to Enyo's brainwashing/breaking while watching her captured familia being slaughtered...
