Do you have a source that Mortals can’t kill gods? Like an actual passage from the book? Because any use of their divinity is an instant kick back to Heaven

This is from Oratoria Vol 11 and 12
When they planned to kill Enyo , Loki say that she has to be with Finn to end him, because he could use release his divinity to let him escape.

This don't count as they gods using ther divinity, they are only showing their pówer not using them. Hestia did it when Bell was fighting with Mord and his group before the monster rex apeared.
Of course this is something the gods don't like to use, they feel is like loophole abuse.

That is not what I asked for nor is it what you said

You said that mortals can’t kill gods, not that gods can easily escape from mortals. I also asked for a direct quote from the passage, Japanese or English is fine, not a summary

And that definitely counts as using their divinity. It’s just that only Hermes was around to judge Hestia for it and he let it slide

Technically a mortal could mortaly wound a god, then the arcanum will automatically active, healing it and sending it back to heaven.
But that never happened because a god would not let it happen, all the gods that were killed in the history were by the hands of other gods or monsters.

The thing about using their divinity like Hestia did is permited, she didn't used her arcanum, only her divinity, is diferent.
Uranos and the other gods can feel when a god break the rule, and the punishment is automatic.

I hope this answer your question.

Yeah, that you have no proof and can only say things like “it hasn’t happened before therefore they can’t.”

I will relent on that Hestia didn’t use her Arcanum though

How are there people who have read the LN and still fail to understand how this works?
First off, the only power the gods have that they’re allowed to use is literal skills like smithing or winemaking and granting Falna. That said, while Haphaestus’ smithing skills without the Arcanum are theoretically achievable by a mortal they are the pinnacle because the gods are actually very skilled with their crafts if they have one. Other than that, they are restricted to the same power as a mortal. In fact, they’re physically below level 1 with their powers sealed.

Next, it’s not that mortals can’t kill them they just can’t be perma killed. Mortals generally are resistant to harming a god but if they are fatally wounded their seal comes off and their power, the Arcanum, auto heals them. However, since the whole thing is a game to the gods, using the Arcanum is cheating, so they are forcibly sent back to the upper world and can not return again. Gods generally kill other gods because it is a mental burden to most mortals to do so. It’s basically a sin because despite the weirdness of most gods, they also ended a pretty dark period in history by containing the dungeon, thus they are generally respected.

As well, Falna are sealed when the god who granted it returns to the upper world. They return to the level they were without the Falna. After that, it can be unsealed and reactivated by converting to another familia. Comparatively, if the god is alive but you want to change familias you must get their permission before you can convert it to another god’s Falna. Power levels are retained though.
