What, the carapace has directional defence? How was he unable to cut it from the outside, but able to cut it from the inside? Like, sure the meat is unprotected, but the carapace is still there regardless from where he cuts from.
:questionblob:
Internal bleeding exist just saying and mc broke through the carapace to get out.

Is this truly the dungeon door guardian? Usually I would have expected a more humanoid monster, not something like a centipede =0v. It feels like Judith could have dispatched this thing easily.

So with all the people are saying, and with how it seems Japanese authors love to make the lives of their MCs as miserable as possible, I see like 2 ways this could go:

He indeed leaves the dungeon, but finds out that his childhood friend is alive and either lives a sad live, maybe married to the bad dude that caused the shit in chapter 1 to happen, which would be the "better" version, or is actually happy, cause she was in cohorts with the village and that whole thing that put him into dungeon was just their play to get rid of him.

He would probably murder either whole village or everyone part the crush depending on the scenario. After sword evolved after the village bloody massacre hero avatar comes again and kills MC so we get back to this vicious circle - till he manages to make hero love him and/or accept the damn harem or something, with MC now knowing his crush is alive which gives him more reason to leave and kill village/save crush, or to murder/drop vengeance on village and his ex-crush if the "bad" scenario comes true.

Either scenario could fulfil the original shown by someone cover - cause either sword can evolve into crush looks, or the crush is alive and MC goal to save her is added to the list? I don't think the theory that the crush is the sword, and somehow magically left the dungeon to create the scenario to get the MC into dungeon to free her/sword makes much sense. But even if it actually is true - hero will surely come and kill MC cause manga would be to close to finishing otherwise :).

What I want to know thou is who will join the harem apart from the 4 we "already know". Default harem is I think 5 girls? Thou there are some that have less/more, and I saw MDex mark a normal triangle love drama as a harem so who knows. But hero, vampire, sword, childhood crush would be 4 and default would require 5th yandere to complete the harem ;).

I like the way you think, but you are not thinking nearly mean enough for this storyline... trust me.

(Buuuuut you might be closer than you think with at least one, lets say one and a half parts.)
Let me guess, Childhood friend is alive, has actually betrayed him, sword does its feast session, mc can't kill his crush(noballs),Ageha comes and it turns even more bloody?

Broooooo C'mon. We have two sets of spoilers for these things.

Two! Most places gave just one.

to let people know more deets before clicking.

Do your part, spoiler tag things you know/suspect might spoil things for people, please.
What spoiler?
That's all the stuff based on what had been shown in the Manga by now.

After the suicide of the Hero and death of MC, when he went and met her again, it was the supposedly the other personality that MC talked to. Chapter 6 clearly states that the one MC was talking to wasn't Ageha, which even MC understood.

Hero also mentioned before that MC wasn't the first one to receive the skill, it had been given to others as well. But MC is the only one who didn't break down mentally and survived for so long.

Even when Hero kills MC in Chapter 13, it's clear that the Hero understood who MC was and what she felt about him (not to forget how MC also mentions that the feeling he got from Hero during that time was similar how he felt when he first met her when she gave him the Skill), meaning she clearly carries over the memories of each Reset (since it is her ability to begin with).

Why should i spoiler tag something which is clearly understood from reading the plot in the Manga so far?

You have read the fucking novel didn't you...thanks for the spoiler.
I only read a bit ahead (just know what happens after MC leaves the dungeon).
Nothing else after that.

All the stuff i said is based on what had already been mentioned in the Manga so far.

Congratulations good sir! Now, to eradicate the village. And then yandere waifu shows up for no apparent reason than to spite you.

Actually fairly common in animals. Defending from 99% of attacks keeps you alive until you reproduce and sacrificing that 1% to spend less energy makes it easier to reproduce. Unless your defense is primarily mass like an elephant's skin or a boar's neck, your armor is going to be "good enough" instead of "completely perfect." As someone else brought up, the plates are rounded on the outside which directs force away from the center of the plate. A blade would slide along the carapace instead of puncturing. From the other side of the plate, the carapace is concave, which concentrates the force TOWARDS a specific point which makes it easier to puncture. It's the same reason boob armor is a bad idea.

On top of that, since it expects blows from the outside, it would make sense for the places to have a bit of space to move inwards with a blow which allows it to absorb the force more easily. It doesn't make sense to have that kind of give outwards, because spending calories maintaining the extra mass to address an edge case like that makes you less fit to reproduce.

However, none of this matters and the author never thought of any of this because he just wanted to have a cool scene. Don't overthink it.

Well, i only read what happens next a bit, so if you want you can read it.

  • MC & Sword leave the Dungeon and MC gives enough points to Sword to allow it to use it's Predator skill to eat the people around.
  • MC goes after the Guy who killed the girl MC liked and his Father and tortures them before eventually making the Father kill his Son.
  • Meanwhile, the Sword has eaten the whole village and becomes a huge monster but isn't able to become a human. This greatly affects the Sword to the point that it asks to MC to kill it as it couldn't bare being a monster, but later kills itself
  • MC then kills himself to Reset again and this time aims to save the Sword and fulfill it's wish.
That's all i read, which is like until Chapter 49 of the Web Novel (i only read the chapters from the plot covered after Manga Chapter 16, which is around Chapter 41 in Web Novel). Currently the Web Novel translations are at Chapter 154.

No way in hell would he be able to do what he did in page 28 if he couldn't do it from the outside going in. The author should've just had him run back and forth inside the Centipede with the sword slicing up its insides, that would have made sense, but they had to throw in that extra "cool" factor for the readers that ended up making his struggles pointless.

Without reading ahead (or reading the source WN at all) and thus without spoiling anything I can make a reasonable guess about how everything can suddenly go awfully wrong: our hero, having spent a couple of minutes celebrating, suddenly drops dead and has to start from square one, and not even because a wild yandere appears at his blind spot with a murderous intent (angered by his encounter with Judith), but because the centipede's poison suddenly proves its very potent nature.
