I am confused, didn't she use her op mc powers to figure out the drug did not make ppl stronger? Then why did it suddenly make ppl stronger? It is almost as if she was wrong with no consequences for it, nor any (literary) reasons, making it an entirely moot plot-point that effectively only milked time.

Mamari being hella suspicious. I dunno with the director though, I didn’t see anything suspicious with the old guy or am I not seeing somehing?

@redice he uses his breath though so he should really just be killed.

@feha the pit viper had more ingredients that were too complex for her to find out what they were so it’s highly likely that there may be some kind of steroid-ish things in the part that she hasn’t uncovered. The kodama fruit that she said was the main ingredient is still probably right since Gran definitely acted like he was using irl drugs.

@Isekailoverrr yes she only found one ingredient, my point is that (aside from her making an "informed" statement solely based on that to the top being a bit weird) there was literally no reason for that plot-point to be there. She is an op mc (oh, wah, she can make medicines for everything, and is so amazing! - as has been established in prior chapters) so it does not fit the narrative, and yet there was no consequence (for her or for the story - there was no, ie. "oh gawd, I made an incorrect diagnosis, need to soulsearch and have that kind of (annoying) arc now!") and instead it was just instantly forgotten after being mentioned once.
At most it felt as if it was there to act as a (really poor) red-herring just so author could reveal a surprising fact as a new surprising fact, despite it already having been part of the arc introduction.

Great, another person she's gonna have to 'prove' herself to before they accept her

@Ithi True, however this is a Japanese manga, not a Russian one. Then again, character could be descended from a Russian transmigrator or the name based off a Russian name.

@feha It IS an informed statement. Being a healer seems to mean being a chemist specifically for medicine. She doesn’t have “op mc powers”, she’s just doing tests with her knowledge on plants and chemistry. I haven’t had the chance to do it myself but I heard that identifying the components of an unknown chemical is reallllyyyyy difficult.

Chemicals react in different ways when exposed to other chemicals, heat, pH or something like that and thats how chemists slowly find out the components of something unknown.

Now imagine not having modern tech and with the tiny sample she has, the testing she could have done is pretty limited. Honestly I was surprised that she even found the main ingredient.

Her saying that its probably just an illusion is in my opinion, a valid enough point to have in the story because realistically there is no medicine that can give you a power up as if it were the spinach from popeye. It’s like finding out an LCD-like drug gave steroid-like effects but also its like 100x more powerful than what an actual steroid can do.

@Isekailoverrr I doubt saying "I only know a single base-component/ingredient in this compound/medicine, which lets me say with certainty that the medicine can't have this effect as the (singular identified) ingredient doesn't have it." is an informed statement. It is literally completely ignoring all the unknowns, even before taking into account how the effect might change by what and how it has been mixed.

Either way, my point is about how it doesn't fit the story, as she had been given the trait of "op mc" already. So having scenes where she is fallible makes no sense when you aren't forcing the scene for the sake of the plot.

@feha well I guess its true that its possible the effects of the main ingredient could possibly be negated or changed by the unknowns so I don’t really have more to say on that.
