We always knew this was going to be an alternate timeline where they could undo some of their regrets, so I don't think that description is quite right. The consequences still exist, just not in this timeline. On top of that, some things being happy doesn't mean a lack of darkness coming at them, heck, it could even be part of Eden One's plot to get them to lower their guard or something by manipulating events so some events seem good since it could have predicted their arrival 🤔
