manga translations are dead in the water
calling japan a "tiny little island" feels quite insulting. over 120 million people dont fit on a "tiny little island"I really wish there'd be an official translation of this so I could read it. I don't pirate manga because I'm not willing to pay for them, I pirate manga because there's literally no other way to read it without dedicating half a decade to learning the language that I have absolutely no use for outside of reading manga...
I'm grateful for scanlators allowing us to get a taste of all these incredible hidden gems. And it breaks my heart every time a manga gets axed because it wasn't popular enough domestically, yet they never even gave it a chance to be marketed to the public outside the tiny little island it was made on. There's a whole world of comics and cartoon enthusiasts out here!
It is a tiny little island compared to the rest of the planet... So are most individual nations. And it's a tragedy that the majority of their art comes out and often dies due to lack of interest, when it's only being made available to a tiny percentage of the total population actually interested in comic books.calling japan a "tiny little island" feels quite insulting. over 120 million people dont fit on a "tiny little island"
