Her family: "There's no way we can let Sia go on an adventure, it's far too dangerous! Do you realise how much damage that girl could cause? What if she playfully slaps someone on the back and vaporises them? What if she sneezes in the wrong direction and annihilates the capital? Keeping her contained within the barrier is the best we can do."

It may starts as genuine overprotectiveness, but some time after training her they probably thought they need to protect the world from her lol
