The original manga focuses on high school student Misa, a model student who is also secretly a witch who uses brutal dark magic to fight for justice.
Original misa doesn't fight for justice and is not secretly at all. She wrecks things and people, flaunts her power openly at every opportunity, then walks away into sunset to appear at another school to continue causing destruction. Basically a combination of wishmaster, leprechaun, hell girl and that outer zone elf.

@DeathDonut It's literally the only english synopsis for the series I can find, not enough has been released for me to write up my own synopsis for the series either.

@77BLc9JwJGpLVARkamJx You can check the original here:

It feels very silly by modern standards because it was made in 1970s, but justice isn't really the motivation. There's a chapter, for example, where
main character murders a teacher with curses just because other students didn't like him and agreed to go along with it
. Then walks away proudly into sunset. That happens a lot. Occasionally Misa does end up punishing some sort of bad guy, or for some reason plays a victim only to slaughter everybody with "power of black magic", but "justice" is definitely not her main driving force. She really resembles that outer zone elf in that regard.

Not blaming you for anything, but "justice" really gives a wrong impression, so description is off.

@DeathDonut I was considering reading the original but it hasn't been fully translated as far as I can tell. If you have a link to the fully translated series I'd love to check it out.

@hyrule13 mangadex has 77 chapters translated. It is not all of it, but it is more than enough to show you what this is about.

Given the age of the series, it is unlikely that full translation exists. Same deal as with Outer Zone, Jigoku Sensei Nube and other older titles.

I loved the original, one of my fave series for sure! Even tho its a shame its not fully translated, its an old series. The remake of it is absolutely fantastic! I was very hyped from the announcement and i loved it! Great work from the group translating it, thanks for picking up this series 😍

How is Koga Shinichi the author of this manga which started in 2020 when Koga Shinichi died in 2018 at the age of 81?

What black magic is this?

I'm reading the original after reading this. Love the art, but this feels a little less grounded and a lot less creepy than the original.

Chap 4 was great, the poor guy just wanted to draw happily, not because he needed to by venting out his misery, but because he wanted to express hapiness

I'm liking this series. It's basically going back to basics of what Eko Eko Azarak originally was, back before Misa got her sword and the series turned into a battle shonen. But it's also a lot better in that it's managed to avoid the "magic sukeban deka" depiction of Misa in the original. The latest chapter looks like it's the start of this series' version of the Steel Lady Nanase arc in Kyokou Suiri.

Also, kudos to Koga-sensei for using black magic to continue writing this series from beyond the grave, and similarly to Yamada-sensei for successfully rolling safe sanity checks after each visitation.

"Fight for justice" Misa didn't give a shit about justice, she murdered people left and right. Her only "good" actions were done for either her own amusement or to defend herself.

Just learned about this and I’m loving it. The style is really pretty and pleasing to look at and I love how chaotic Misa is. Gotta check out the original now.

Thanks for the translation work! Greatly appreciated
