Elevator Girl keep his job accompanying the dead and we got their backstories how they died, at some point we get Elevator Girl backstory too why is she being there at first place and stuck as Elevator Girl, got a chance to accompany her family to afterlife, and in the end she make a bond with one of the dead willing to take her place as Elevator Girl then she will be the one who get delivered to the afterlife

Jumped in thinking there would be more X-mas femboys, finished the story contemplating life and how much it hurts to not being able to save your loved ones, especially when you're aware of their situation and are of no help, this oneshot gave me such a bittersweet feeling, oh, what I would do to meet my dead loved ones. But alas, life isn't a oneshot, guys. Cherish the people you love, you'd never know who would the first one to step into that elevator.

I guess the confusion was that the uploader instead of marking it as a one-shot when it was uploaded they wrote 0 as a chapter number and typed "oneshot" as the chapter title.
