Solution: Half-blood. Got most of the elvish appearance from one side, and the tiny oni horn from the other.

Orcs don´t sound as smart to pull that off, but having a branch of them acting like a cuckoo bird, replacing Elf babies with Orc ones, or having small Orc children going in to settlements passing as lost Elf kids...

Sure you have the whole "they don´t look alike" thing but that is only on the limits of your own story so still sounds like an interesting idea for one
