For Kodansha US, go to the individual volume page for the cover art you want then right click on the image and open it in a new tab.
This will give you a thumbnail of the cover, with a URL ending in "SeriesName_VolumeNumber-0000x0000.jpg". The resolution of the thumbnail you're served varies based on browser zoom and monitor resolution, you can get anything from 300px to 2000px thumbnails. There's an original resolution image hidden in their backend, which you can't get to through normal site usage.
Take this link and remove "-0000x0000" from it, leaving you with "SeriesName_VolumeNumber.jpg". This is the highest resolution version of the cover available, and this is the one you should use.

Note: Some image filenames have "_cvr" in them, like "RentAGirlfriend_04_cvr-717x1024.jpg" - don't remove that, the correct slug for the full size cover is "RentAGirlfriend_04_cvr.jpg" and the same process can be followed.

For Amazon:

ASIN Code
Open the Amazon product page of the book which you want to get the cover image. Take a look at the URL and copy the characters between "dp/" and "/ref", this is the ASIN code.

In this example below, the ASIN code is "B0BG56NRZW"

save/copy this code.

Kindle vs. Paperback
The cover of a Kindle version of a book is usually* of better quality than its paperback counterpart. Therefore, try to get the ASIN code of the Kindle one.

This bookmarklet allows you to obtain the image(s*) with just a single click, rendering all the other steps obselete. ty @Roler
*It also works on pages for book series.

First, copy the javascript.
Then, create a bookmark using the copied javascript in the URL field.

To use it, simply click the bookmark when you are on an Amazon product page.

ASINFetcher
If you want to get multiple ASIN codes (like covers for multiple volumes). this extension will do it for you. Simply search the title in Amazon search bar, press enter, and once the results are displayed, open this extension. Click "CLICK HERE TO FETCH ASIN", it will open a window like this:

Kuaikan (jpg): go to search for the series and use maxurl or inspect element. open it in a new tab and change the url number after w and before .jpg to 1280. (OR delete everything after "webp" and convert the webp to png or jpg)

Jpeg has slightly more noise than webp but may be less of a pain to convert. For the webp file, remove the part after the file extension like:

If the series wont show up in search, go to mobile search in inspect element, then grab the webp.

For Tapas go to the info page of the comic
If you don't know how to get into the info page, just add /info at the end of the series URL
Example:

Once you're there, right click the cover and inspect element, search for the image, it should end with a
_z.jpg
Copy that URL and paste it into a new tab, or save it somewhere.
Remove the _z from the URL and go to the modified URL, this will show you the highest quality version of the cover.

Open the modified URL and it will take you to the highest quality version of the cover.

For Naver go to the series page, right click the cover and inspect element, you will look for the image URL, it should look somewhat like this:

Save that URL and paste it somewhere, then you will remove the ?type=m260 from the URL.

Now, an easier way is by using Naver's second domain and doing the same steps as before, but for this one you won't need to modify the URL, they will have the full resolution cover already in there.

The URL is the same as the one from the main site, you might want to use this domain instead of the main one actually.

For Booklive go to the book info page, right click the cover and open in new tab, you will modify the URL.
The URL will look like this:

You will change the 2L.jpg to X.jpg

This change will get you into the highest available resolution for that cover.

I would recommend using the Max URL userscript as they will automatically update the URL for you, but this script can be conflictive with other methods in this thread as they try to automatically redirect you. You can also use their website.

An alternative for Kodansha US and also for Seven Seas is:

Search for the volume on https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/
Click on the cover thumbnail, then on the enlarge icon in the corner
Click “download hi res” to download a hi-res TIFF

They also sometimes upload Japanese covers prior to the English cover being finalised.

BookWalker or BookWalker Global method to (usually) obtain a hi-res cover:

1. Copy the thumbnail image URL, e.g. https://rimg.bookwalker.jp/7710085/6u1VY3UN~QyhkEGh4TxtSw__.jpg
2. Take the ID and reverse it: 5800177
3. Decrement the number by 1: 5800176
4. Insert that number into this URL: http://c.bookwalker.jp/coverImage_5800176.jpg
5. If you get an error or the wrong image, repeat steps 3&4

For the mobile version of the Japanese site this is simplified

1. Copy the thumbnail URL, e.g. https://c.bookwalker.jp/thumbnailImage_5890239.jpg
2. change “thumbnail” to “cover” and decrement the ID by one: https://c.bookwalker.jp/coverImage_5890238.jpg
3. If you get an error or the wrong image, decrement the number by one again.

Shueisha books, not really the best option overall but is a decent one, most their images are 1200px at most so is a nice fallback option if a certain cover is not available through the other methods in this thread.

1. Simply open the website and look for the book you want and open it.
2. The first thing you will see it's a slideshow with various images, click the main cover and it will expand
3. Right click the image and select open in new tab
This will take you to the highest quality image available for that cover in the website.

Manga Zero, apparently you can easily get images from them, but you will need to find a series where you can open the reader directly on the website, there are some series where they force you to download their app, so good luck with that.

1. Open the website and look for the series you want and open it.
2. Check if you're able to open the reader on your browser, if you're not, check the other methods in this thread.
3. If you're able to get into the reader, right click the cover image and open it in a new tab, you will be able to download the image.

Manba, yet another easy one, kinda.
1. Open the website and look for the series you want.
2. Right click the cover and click open image in new tab, or copy the link image.
The link image will look something like this:

You will modify the URL by removing everything before the https://manba-storage, like this:

You can also use the Max URL Userscript or their website to automatically do those replacements.

Sukima, not the best of all websites for HQ covers though, but might be worth a shot.
1. Open the website and search for the series you want.
2. Right click the cover and click open image in new tab, or copy the image link.
You will be shown the highest quality available for that image.
If the series has multiple volumes available, you can easily go through them by changing in the URL the number after /00 and before /cover.jpg

Example:
Vol. 1:

I normally just open the trial for the volume and the hi-res image is the first thing that appears. You can then just clip and crop as needed.

The method Shirobane showed you usually has better quality than ripping from the viewer (if you're screenshotting or saving the canvas image, STOP)

To get the cover from the BookWalker reader if it's better quality than the usual method, you need to:​

Less technical way:​

1. Open the book preview reader
2. Open your browser's DevTools and click on the network tab (reload the page if you need to)
3. Search for the cover image request inside the network panel (you can also set a "cover" filter)

More technical way (ignore this if you can't understand):​

1. Get the book UUID (without the "de" at the start):

2.  Insert the book UUID in a URL like this:

   (in case the book doesn't have a preview, this won't work)
3. In the JSON response from the URL above, get the "url" value and, in case the "cty" (category) is 0, add ''normal_default/" to it, now you have something like:

Apparently it stores editions from other countries as well. Then, Let's take Vagabond as an example:

Go to the volume release (the URL have /book/ path)
If you are in the /manga/ path, search for the book release (usually the thumbnail is smaller than the usual manga chapter release)

1. Click the '試し読み' (or the colored button beside the gold coin number button).
2. The cover is usually the first page, right-click the first image, choose inspect.
3. Search for the URL blob:https://comic-fuz.com (usually by opening the div class that has been highlighted from the inspect above (the 'blob:' part is important, without it, you will be redirected to the main page)).
4. Open the blob: in the new tab (right click the blob: link and choose "Open link in new tab" and download it (right-click the image and choose "Save Image").
