Had my 15 year old reddit account banned for posting links to Eminence in Shadow and Isekai Craft Gurashi on mangadex. Gonna be honest, it's a little bit of a blow. I've been in /r/manga for 12 years now. Guess I'll just take this opportunity to move into the mangadex forums. Yeah, part of this post is a pity party, but part of it is also to warn the guys on reddit that the admins are starting to crack down and they might want to rethink linking here.

Saw this from u/Xical & saying that you've greatly contributed to r/manga is an understatement. It is unfortunate that Reddit is cracking down on these posts since it won't really solve anything aside from people finding other ways to do it. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if people decide to migrate somewhere if it gets worse. Curious if u/AssociatedEars & all of their alt accounts will get the ban hammer too but then again just make another account. Hope the transition to here goes well & same for your weekend.

It's unlikely for /u/AssociatedEars to be banned, since the suspension from reddit comes from posting links that are then reported to reddit for Copyrights infringement by the rights holders.
What I'm surprised about is that for one of my account I got severals warning months appart before my account was suspended.

r/manga has been on the decline for a while, might end up being a good thing for manga discussions to centralize in a different spot tbh
I find myself having to agree, Aruseus will never let it go and any action in the direction to remove him will never happen as long as he does bare minimum mod actions.

The subreddit still growing is more a sign of how all encompassing reddit has become for online discussion overall. vBulletin my beloved.

Genuinely, where do we even go if r/manga dies? I'm gonna be pretty sad to lose out on the new slop manga that gets discovered and slapped on that subreddit.

That being said I'm mostly prioritizing the convenience factor in direct and easily-visible links to the manga on Reddit. Not many other places do the same thing.

F. I've used your disc posts to find new manga to read and according to RES I've upvoted you like 104 times, probably all on your chapter links.

Is it still possible to maybe throw images into an imgur album or something and then have the mangadex link in the comments?
Well nobody knows, this is an issue from reddit itself, their legal team not the sub, it could work for a while and one day simply receive a new wave of take downs.

From a comment of Kirosh in a new thread from today: "I had post removed by the admins despite not having any links in it.", and in the previous post some mentioned that also comments with links in other subs have receive take downs, another example was this post from Kafka from A Divorced Crybaby which was an image without links
