This man wants to be a Jojo's character so bad. I liked this, I don't see this getting serialized, but it was fun. It got a little cringy near the end with the manager guy and the eye burning thing. All and all this was good, and I hope that the artist can find a new series to make her name with.

Glad to see Usazaki Shiro doing something, hope she gets even more work. But this story/setting? It is alright but nothing “wow” to me. A decent 1 shot

Even though it is google translated,However it makes me understand the story of Flame eyed cyclops and well I don't think this one shot is going to get serialized for three reasons

1) The female character is unlikable
2) The series could be inspired and probably ripped off from Yu-gi-oh,Black jack, robin hood and ace attorney even though the latter might also be part of the courtroom genre
and
3) This one shot has supernatural elements in a courtroom drama story

Now I know there are some likable elements in this story such as who the hero really is ,how he get a special prosthetic eye from his parents, why he is nicknamed "Flame eyed cyclops" and why he donated the money to the orphanage because a flashback in the end revealed that he was an orphan and is adopted by an old man to teach him to understand laws.

But still this wouldn't save the story from being serialized and even if it did it will likely be cancelled as people might not invest in that series or maybe it could evolve like Act-age ,so sadly I don't think flame eyed Cyclops would become a manga series and I hope maybe Shiro Usazaki will either collaborate with another writer to make another series or at least make her own series after the act-age scandal fiasco.

I thought the art looks familiar, turned out to be the artist for act-age. The cyclop's appearance is my type, and this definitely has potential to become a series, though if it does, I think it should have a bit more detailed and less cliche.

@markus2134 Ironic as there is a similar series like this from the creator of Hitman Reborn. Just switch unlicensed Lawyer to Unlicensed Detective and his eye power is basically to tell people to go kill themselves. No joke that manga exist in Shonen Jump.

The author gave cyclops some sort of gimmick just so he could skip over all the strenous part of writing a crime fiction story, which unfortunately is the highlight for this type of narrative. This was extremely mediocre, even for a oneshot.

To reiterate my point, this was the same reason why neo;lation (also by jump) had pisspoor writing. The author wanted to write a manga about hacking, yet he wasn't as educated on the subject as much as he needed, and thus, had to resort to gimmicks has a leeway to simplify it's writing.

... And in terms of art, it's alright, i guess. The story doesn't make any special use of Usazaki Shiro's art so I don't have anything remarkably special to say about it.

Hopefully Usazaki Shiro get's a better manga to work with. Engan no Cyclops wasn't really bad but it wasn't really that great either.
