I kind of admire this series' commitment to It's bonkers-dumb premise being played unflinchingly straight, but I can't help but feel like it's trapped in an awkward halfway spot between the silly porno comedy nature of a story like this and an earnest attempt to be serious and dramatic. And as a result of sorta achieves neither end.

I can't imagine how it's going to sustain itself for 44 more chapters without getting so all-the-drugs silly that it drives away the drama audience, or so far up it's own melodramatic ass that the people just here for a ribald sexy wackadoo comedy are turned off by the darkness/seriousness attempts.
