Scarlet and Constance are polar opposites, but if you look closer then you can see that it all circles back to one point of being headstrong and stubborn - basically 2 sides of the same coin. And it was such a great scene when Kate declared that she's not a tool/plot required excuse and that she would help her friend as long as she asked and it was in her power.
And damn, Neil. You go to apologize and start bitching about how Connie destroyed your family business? You, whose family basically wanted to buy into true nobility (by exploiting the dire situation of house Grail), who cheated on your fiance openly, who accused his fiance instead of defending her? And you fucking dared to accuse her now of some random act of vandalism? The girl would never do it, but IMHO she had all the right in the world to do so. Should have really told him to go sell his body to old countesses.
This series is really shaping up to be one of my favourites.

While I also thought along the same lines as you, I do think it is possible that they may have been just dancing. Back then, dancing with many different (male) partners when you were "of age" was considered a big disgrace. Especially if you had already been paired with a fiance. It usually carried the same meaning as being a slut, gold-digger, prostitute, and/or whore (basically a "loose" women), just without actually partaking in the sex (although nothing says that didn't also happen). However, knowing this story is full of extremes, you may have some ground to stand on.

This work is truly art, literature... The depth of the characters, the flaws that may not be flaws! The subjectivity of everything, in which a trait is not inherently anything but a trait- neither a flaw nor a saintly, all-powerful cheat skill. The dynamic between Scarlet and Constance is beautiful. The story-building is thorough- there are no holes, no glossing over, everything is addressed! Scarlet's righteous side yelling about everyone (while only Constance can hear, that's just such an interesting device) fulfills my desire to hear sense, to feel anger, but Constance plays the straight man and points on (secretly, to the reader) the hypocrisy Scarlet lives on without knowing.

That's not what it meant. The hunt was what happened at the Merryl-Anne. What they meant was:

She tried to hunt Constance and make everyone destroy Constance. But Constance turned it around and instead of Constance, it was she who was hunted and destroyed. What does it mean by hunted? It means she's the prey for everyone to destroy. It's a combination of 'circlejerk' and 'public lynching'.

There's a single more accurate term, but I forgot what it was. It's about how one person makes a mistake online and then everyone piles on all the hate on that guy even when they don't feel strongly about it. The word always almost come out but always goes back in.
