I'm actually glad that she 'forgave' Neil that way. Although I would want for that guy to face much crueler consequences, Connie's decision can be seen as a character very opposite of Constance, in that she's kind and forgiving, but both have the similarity of being stubborn and headstrong. This scene just adds the contrast of both the MCs and at the same time their similarities. I love it.

Me too, really liked how when it came to her beliefs she didn’t cower or appear unconfident, she was determined and Constance seceded after one look at her face.

I especially liked how she made it clear how she’s done with him and doesn’t feel anything for him. Unlike how he imagined she’d be out for revenge or possible cling to him in hope he’d come running back to her. Her goodbye had such finality, they are done and she wants nothing to do with him.
