For a kid 2 -3 years of learning how to socialize and learn very basic education is pretty important before starting kindergarten.

Pretty sure it's a year-ish, but that's a year that her classmates have had socializing with each other and forming friend groups/cliques. If she had zero experience in social settings with groups of kids her age it would be a big disadvantage - because she doesn't know how to make friends, let alone break/merge into the established cliques.

She doesn't know how to play with others AND she's the new girl. She was basically dropped into the deep and told to swim.
