Even when the art was kinda funny at the start of the series it gradually refined into something beyond amazing. The atmosphere, the textures, the details. Theres something here that is missing in OnePunchMan. Maybe its the traditional medium or i think its something finer.

Jumping from takehiko inoue's slam dunk to naruto and bleach... I found es21 is in a league of its own in terms of artstyle. I bought most volumes before they got ruined now I end up here to reread in digital T-T

I read all of this series when i still couldn't read English in my native language (Brazilian Portuguese) during that time the site that did the translation, Jikai (defunct for quite some years now), liked to do their projects with only volume scans so i read this in the highest quality and BOI... i never read something that quite catches the same feeling.

Maybe it is nostalgia i won't deny, i dont doubt that there is other series as good or better than this one, i won't even say this is without failing but...... it is just special, it is from a time when things were simple from an author that poured his heart on this, ES21 has that feeling of discovery where the characters are truly growing trying to find their way in life, the comedy is SPOT ON, the action simply amazing and all of this is conveyed by art that you simply dont see every day.

Murata Yusuke-sensei is an artist in a league of his own, i know there are some more famous than him but this guy... this guy knows how to draw, there is never a wasted panel, never an image that doesn't convey exactly what the story want.

And obviously, the story is just as good, every character was constructed so that they feel like real people, sure the highly stylized and hyper-real setting makes them have pretty noticeable quirks but this is what makes us feel the weight of their lives.

I laughed, I cried, I cheered... this manga is one of my first, if not the first complete series, and i am biased but if you have time and want a ride of a life, Read This One, i guarantee you won't regret it.

what a good manga.......ending could have had some more oomf, but i seem to be a stickler for "perfect endings," so who cares
never thought i'd care about a sports manga so much, let alone one about american football

Just got done with a reread after many years, Hiruma is hilarious and really carries this manga, even after all this time.

You can really see the artist's growing process from the 1st volume until the end, and then to now where he is today.

Storyline has a lot of eyeroll moments due to how exaggerated or improbable some things are, but at least it's not completely ridiculous like some other sports manga that should be relabeled as "fantasy manga with some sports added in".

Read the manga and watched the anime 2 times 10+ years ago. Brings back memories. Fun manga but sometimes the characters are really annoying. Nonetheless worth reading. Ending was meh but all in all a 7/10.

My biggest complaint towards this manga is that we don't see Mr. Don topless even though every other big, swole linemen (Banba, Yamabushi, Ootawara, and Gaou) each got scenes of them being topless.

Fucking bless this dirty little pig with your mighty pectorals, abs, and biceps, Mr. President, sir.
