Guys, it's basically just the same person living in two worlds. Like twins that got split up at birth but share the same experiences, personality etc. Not that complex.

It's not that complicated, he died on that day, his soul split into 2, one stayed and one went.

Not only is this manga filled with convenient plot armors and clichés, but now we have to comprehend whatever this cloning sorcery is. One more chapter before I decide to stop reading this
Good. Read the webnovel version, it is a great read and a lot of fun. It's not a One Piece, or Avatar the Last Airbender, or whatever people might consider to be pinnacle top tier stories.

But it is a story with a premise and a plan that knows where it is going and is cohesive in explaining itself, while making excellent use of its plot and characters.

This manga is kinda like a version of a comedic routine where they only tell you the punchline. Sometimes it's good, but without the buildup it loses much of its punch.

For those new and being confused about the whole Niito reincarnation thing, I made a spoiler post on previous chs detailing how it works and how it happened.

The Elrise we follow and that Niito currently inhabits is.... She's always had Niito's soul in this world/timeline. The Elrise that we've been following was born with only 1 soul, that is Niito's. Later in the story Elrise hears her old caretakers talk about her pre-memory phase (5 years and under) and compares it to the Elrise he knows from the game. OG!Elrise was a malicious evil thing who's actions were to deliberately hurt people. Things like firing people for the smallest slight, ruining their lives, or having them executed, or everything if she could help it. Our Elrise instead was more of a brat, like flipping maid's skirts while running wild and then telling her handlers to place her food and other things next to her in bed because that's how she can most efficiently get to them without moving. Niito remarks how that's exactly how he expects to behave if HE didn't have his old memories and not how OG!Elrise would, which he describes her actions as sticky and unpleasant types.

Author also later confirms in an author post that MC Elrise is genuinely Niito's soul and that the soul that would've originally entered Elrise was instead born to another body that is 100% away from the story.
Too add to this, if memory serves correctly(been a while since I read it)

Essentially Niitos soul is currently split between his deathly self, and Elrise. Or basically a incomplete isekai in progress. However he can't live with just part of a soul forever, so he is dying, as more of the soul continues to transfer his condition deteriorates further. However while he remains alive, Elrise is still connected to him and able to use that to her advantage.

Damn, just trying to remember those details is making me nostalgic and want to reread the series.

Like I went in not expecting much, maybe a fun read, and was pleasantly surprised to have that and more. I never thought I would regard it nearly as highly as I do now.

I ain't reading all that(just kidding, but the seeing that there's stuff behind spoilers kinda demotivates me to comprehend everything you've said), but I will try out the web novel soon so thanks for the suggestion
