if someone can do a better job being a saintess without having saintess power, that is an amazing person
Assuming she can harm the witch, think scripted battle where only 1 character can cause damage.

if this is the same as in the novel, no, Eterna will believe she has the same(similar) power as Vernel who also can't get hurt
the wound is more important later to add some drama with, "I should have known",
what is different is that in the novel Elrise removed the wound like removing a piece of thread ( multiple high level magic). Most people wouldn't doubt that as it's impossible to make it look like a thread. Later Vernel realized that no one had red clothing
But what about undergarments? If MC was wearing red bra...

If he's actually planning to come clean to Eterna to explain she's not a witch, that wound is going to come in handy to convince her that he's a fake saint. But I'm sure that's probably gonna cause the opposite problem of making people believe Eterna really is the witch to have somehow caused Elrise to be wounded.

Some changes from the WN for those interested:
Vernel jumps not because of Eterna but in the WN and novels Elrise had jumped down already to catch Eterna. Vernel's own narration declares as such as he had a very calculating and reasonable thought process about Eterna, Elrise jumping however... His body on the other hand immediately moved without thought the moment he saw Elrise go over the cliff.

About the wound, Elrise had a small internal panic about it, but on the surface she just looks curious and then she goes and picks up the wound and it moves away like a red thread. Elrise using her magic to instantly heal the wound and then using light magic to make a red thread appear. She explains to Vernel that a red thread must've gotten caught on her.
As a fellow WN reader i confirm this. The WN is propably the best Saintest WN I have read. Highly recommend it. It is also really short with less than 100 chapters in total.

At that rate of growth, he's going to make Balerion the Black Dread look like a tiny twerp in comparison by the time he finishes growing.

If the saint jumps from a cliff, no wound will be received unless the saint is pushed by the witch?

Why did she suddenly get a wound? In the previous chapter, she was fine even when her knight stabbed her?

She normally uses body-hardening magic to simulate the saint's invulnerability, but in her panic to hang onto Eterna and Vernel it dropped briefly, allowing one of the falling rocks to scratch her.
