I don't know why it wasn't explained properly in the manga but two saints can't exist in the same time in the Saint-Witch cycle. Also, if Eterna becomes a Saint, people are definitely not going to believe that since she is existing besides the Strongest Saint in the history to add to that if she becomes a Saint, she have to join the battle against the Witch and if she kills the Witch, she will become the next witch herself which is the biggest reason why MC doesn't want Eterna to find out that she is the saint.

Interesting... Can you also explain why Elrise is so powerful despite not being a saint? Is it because of all the years saving people and killing monsters? Also, where can I read the novel?

It wasn't mentioned here yet why, but seems like her power was absurd even in the original story, where she was mistaken for the Saint because of this and thus happily became spoiled trash.

So she is even stronger now that she is actively fighting monsters, helping people and the like.
I mean, the MC himself said how the original Witch would already be more active if not for how the new Elrise is so powerful/scary, meaning the old one clearly was not on par.

But we can still wonder how much is from the original Elrise and how much is from actual training and outside knowledge now.
