Fake scanlations...that are actually good?

It popped into my head...Has anyone done a 'fake scanlation' like where they take a manga raw and put their own text into the bubbles? And it is actually entertaining/done well?

I'm curious if anyone has ever just made up their own story to fit with the art? I guess joke scans would fall under this!

I see fake scans where people put 'please join XX Scanlation group' into the text, but that's not quite what I'm wondering about...

not actually fake, but i did spicy things up here and there on my translation for the impact and lul, and my reader loves that,
b'cuz they said my translation is too stiff before,
i even noted that on my profile, that my translation is mainly fan-fiction...

The ones for actual manga series are far too often just unfunny or get old fast (outside of notable one-offs and unintentional, Duwang-type scans), like most gimmick scanlations. There's quite a few good hentai rewrites out there, though. The bizarre fake dialogue really adds to the experience.
