When you say you're old enough but you spend all this time taking what I said personally I'm curious as to how you define "old enough"?A good localization team knows to choose a localization that still fits the tone of the original works - that what makes it different to a team that does straight translations.
And not only is the tone part of the reason I like and I also have no obligations to comment on other posters opinions on here when I see no problem with it: I never disagreed about wanting to have 'nonsense' tranlasted - if you managed to do one 'idiom/word/term' you might as well do them all - I have simply voiced my very own preference
More than anything I have done - more than once - done translations for myself whenever I wanted to simply read ahead or read a series that nobody has picked up
And not to further rain on your parade but people have translated entire chinese, korean and japanese novels using MTL and their knowledge of the language to fully translate and localize it perfectly - even phrases that are uncommon or unusual - and all of them manage to add in a small note explaning the original meaning and the original text
I am old enough to know what actual scanslators are - the people who have had to buy several physical copies, rip one apart to scan the pages, have a another to read through it and even a third to make annotations. When they didn't have access to online dictionaries thesaurus
To not preach the ancient texts to me. I was there when they were written.
If you've done this work then you know that localization is a thing. You just wanted to find something to complain about it. And that's fine. But going through the past stuff you've commented on I don't see that level of scrutiny at all. It makes me suspicious that you just came here on someone else's behalf to find something to criticize.
Let me give you a bit of context - the translator of this manhua has said nothing and done nothing to antagonize the people causing problems here.
If you were looking at this conversation from an outsiders point of view then you'd see how silly it seems to nitpick an arguably good localization, and also bring up the other arguments happening. Smacks of you showing up to pick a fight.
