Yeah he’s full-on only giving moral consideration to those close to him. But he also hates being manipulated. I’m guessing that after Tachibana stops Jinguuji to talk things out with the demon king army, they realise it was all some sorta dupe-job by the goddesses. Resulting in even more justified anger at the goddess of love and beauty.
