@Darklight99 well if you aren't even going to respond to what I said then this truly is a waste of my time. If I remember at the end of this manga when everything goes back to normal I'll say I told you so.

@futbuk You're ignoring everything in the manga while crying that everything will totally be pointless. Sure dude sure.

Sure Tachibana got helpers to dress her up cutely, sure she flirted with Jinguuji so that he could praise her, sure this entire chapter she spent talking with the woman of her dreams about how she wants Jinguuji to praise her, sure the woman immediately noticed that all Tachibana wanted was for the person she likes to call her cute and praise her. Sure the manga literally started with the statement that it's a romcom between Tachibana and Jinguuji.

Sure, let's ignore all of that and then you're right.

@Darklight99 When you ignore the fact that Tachibana is a man and refers to himself as such, it's amazing what else you can pull out of your ass.

Let's say you are a man. I am pretty sure you are.

Anyway... let say you get kidnapped, murdered and your brain is placed in a woman's body. You wake up and the person who did this to you tells you to go kill some guy for them. When you protest, they drugs you to make you intensely attracted to your best friend/rival who is given the same drug and is now intensely attracted to you. You both manage to fight the effect drugs and do your best to complete the mission the crazy person has tasked you with as they promised to return everything to normal once it is finished. You continue to refer to yourself as a man because this wasn't by choice, it was forced upon you.

Why do you continue to insist that Tachibana is a woman? Drop your fetish for a minute and really think about this.

@futbuk Technically, while the scenario you proposed looks the same as the premise of this manga, it's completely different since this is a magical gender bender.

While in the brain transplant scenario the person would be going through all sorts of mental anguish (Even if they stayed the same sex and wasn't given drugs, they'll still have heavy doses of body dysphoria since our brains has a specific map of our body that if it doesn't fit, can really screw people up (This is also the reason why things like Phantom Limp happens)), it's not really the same as what's happening here.

A more similar scenario would be taking the electrical impulses that make up your brain and putting it in a completely different brain in a completely different body. Of course, this gets into questions like "What makes you 'you'?" and other such questions (And that's only on the science side of things, if one gets into souls and such, that's a another giant can of worms waiting) that this manga would probably not get into.

So uh, yeah, what makes a person a person is very complicated.

Also, as for the beginning thing, that's just more a tiny suspicion on my part then any sort of confirmation on this manga. Really, nothing else has been really happening so far in terms of the protags character development to say anything is heading about it with even 40% surerity. Manga's like 10% Tachibana stays girl/6% turns back/17% TachiXJinguu/1% TachiXmystery girl/4% JinguuXAssasinGuy.

@futbuk So again, your problem lies with the premise itself. Then don't read it, but know that what the author intends isn't that.

Saying that it's my fetish repeatedly over and over again won't change that it's literally what the manga is about, it has been from the start and the author literally spelled it out at the very start.

@Darklight99 Why do you keep misrepresenting my position? I am arguing, and have been this entire time, that Tachibana sees himself as a man not a woman even though he is in a woman's body. [FULL STOP]

Once again, I enjoy the gender bender tag. I don't have a problem with it. I enjoy watching characters cope with such a life altering change. Unfortunately, the tag attracts unstable weirdos that seem to use the stories to validate themselves and their life choices and attack anyone that question them.

I use hypotheticals in an effort to explain why I think it's wrong to describe Tachibana is female. He describes himself as male and I am sure that the person doing the translations can attest that he is using male terms when referring to himself.

@MangaDoll Read the two sentences above for why I put it the way I did. The mangaka seems completely uninterested in exploring dysmorphia issues which I won't fault him on since this is a comedy. Only now are they starting to explore Tachibana's character beyond just surface issues. Speculation is fun. Debate about character motivations and the potential direction of the story and it's themes is fun too. I just object to some being so attached to their headcanon that they are incapable of a proper discussion.

@futbuk Everything that's happening are literally genre staples. Boku Girl, Sekai no Hate de Aimashou, Kanojo Ni Naru Hi Another, this is what always happens. Tachibana's male self is so pointless that he wasn't even given a face. Whether or not you like it is irrelevant to me and everyone else, but it's fact that a GB romance is what this manga is. Do you also read other taboo manga and say that they won't do anything immoral? Like reading a Teacher x Student manga and say that it'll never happen because it's immoral in real life?

Everything that's happening are literally genre staples. Boku Girl, Sekai no Hate de Aimashou, Kanojo Ni Naru Hi Another, this is what always happens.

Genre staples... So it's happened before in titles that barely share the same themes so it must be the same here as well? Should I even bother pointing out that 2 of the 3 you listed is Ecchi and that none of them had the MC choose it? You should have just listed "TSF Monogatari". I would have at least respected you for admitting it. I don't shame people for what they get off to. I just don't like it when they insist it needs to be in everything they watch/read.

Tachibana's male self is so pointless that he wasn't even given a face. Whether or not you like it is irrelevant to me and everyone else, but it's fact that a GB romance is what this manga is.

Since you are so familiar with staples, I would have thought you know that an overcast face is typical for someone shitfaced drunk. Why is it so hard to admit that the Romance tag is just as likely to be a tease to hype up the suspense between the two of them. You are teased with the possibility of them banging to keep you reading.

Do you also read other taboo manga and say that they won't do anything immoral? Like reading a Teacher x Student manga
I read Usagi Drop AFTER I watched the anime and loved it. It was a nice story and I get why others didn't like it but oh well. I gave up on Teisou Gyakuten Sekai because the h-doujin was far superior. It's just soulless now as a serialized manga. I also dropped Hige wo Soru. Soshite Joshikousei wo Hirou. cause they gave up on the will they/wont they. Also I am a mild purityfag so it lost it's appeal.

...and say that it'll never happen because it's immoral in real life?
It's the journey not the destination. Sealing the deal in serialized manga is saved for the end because best girl wars are a thing and if their favorite is out of the running they don't care anymore. Kaguya-sama is pulling it off just barely and Giji Harem is adorkable (holy shit google doesn't want to autocorrect that) so it gets a pass. Look at the Konosuba. The author has to keep everyone happy so he keeps toeing the line and dragging out the inevitable fuckfest to sell more books. Hell, Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai never pulled the trigger and to this day the writer is mocked for not having the balls to just pick a girl.

I'll gladly let all of this drop if you can tell me why it was "perfect" that I have a Nagatoro pfp. I am still curious about that

@futbuk Them being ecchi doesn't change the fact that their gender bending was taken with the same seriousness as this one. Once again, your problem is that you don't want it to happen, you have no way of saying why it WON'T. You somehow think that the manga which outright stated at the start that it's a romcom about Tachibana and Jinguuji will not have them get together because you find it weird. After saying it outright at the start and then showing repeatedly that the two of them are falling foe one another, you somehow came to the conclusion that they won't end up together.

As for convincing you to change your mind, no one cares, the author will continue to ship them, they'll continue to fall more in love with one another and they'll end up together, what you personally think is completely irrelevant.

@futbuk Whining about them falling in love while reading a manga with a girl bullying her senpai? Or do you not see the moral problems with that? Nagatoro is way more of a fetish bait than any gender bender stories.

@futbuk I've been in every live TL thread made by STALKER since the very start, so yes I have. Doesn't change the fact that she still calls him gross and makes fun of him a lot. It's a fun little romcom sure, it's still fetish bait. And they're going to end up together just like Tachibana and Jinguuji are going to end up together.

Well that explains why you seem immune to my efforts to antagonize you. I really expected you to bite at the "her him" or at least the "purityfag" comment. Well if you've survived at least three years on /a/ we at least have something in common.

We will never agree. We can just wait and enjoy the story as it unfolds. Never said I was against them hooking up, I just don't think it is as nearly inevitable as you do.

I'm mad because people are using a comment section to discuss a manga that comment section is dedicated to
