Fantasy manga/manhwa/manhua about Female MC looking after a child

Honestly I gave up on Male MC oriented mangas with similar themes, because of how relatively often weirdo authors portray MC's kid (girls usually) "falling in love" with MC. Even if love isn't reciprocated, it's still weird af. Got to mention that almost all of them are also tied to Harem genre :fml:

I am looking for any fantasy (preferably sword&magic) manga/manhua/manhwa about Female MC taking care of their child/foster child. Preferably if the work doesn't delve into Female MC having to date or seek any kind of relationship with men.

Yes I know there are tons of works where Female MC is taking care of a child, especially in Manhua category, but they are universally tied with some kind of backward ass love plot that MC has to go through to guarantee peaceful life with their kid. No princes, no love obsessed baddies who are saving clutz female MC who loses consciousness from seeing half naked dude, no assassin who suddenly fell in love with MC in failed attempt at her life, just wholesome motherly relationship with their kid.

For reference, here are some examples for what I am looking for.

I've been killing slimes for 300 years... you get it
In the land of Leadale
Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear
[Redacted] because of ridiculously long title name

I'd be eternally grateful for literally any recommendations with similar theme. :aquadrink:

It has a male MC, but I was very pleasantly surprised that Diana from Centuria was written like a normal kid and not a brocon going after her adopted big brother.

Kinda ironic too considering that it has royal inbreeding / eugenics as part of the setting

Since someone revived this, I'm just gonna update my recommendation.

Bought Tefuda ga Oome no Victoria like 2 months ago.
Really liked it.

Tho it leans a bit heavily towards the romance side.
Half expecting them to get married in volume 2.

But fear not. The MC leaves her very potential husband candidate and continues her role as a single parent to a new location at the end of volume 3.

Be honest, is story worth slogging through romance arc?
I'm REALLLY not in the mood to read people falling in love and stuff.
Mangas cover looks legit like any other romance manga xD

Tbh you're looking for a sl with childcare, no romance, and I don't think it exists.
The SL I know without romance have another theme they use for the sl, like cooking or smth else, but with childcare it's really rare.
I know two (from the animes, I didn't read their manga): Usagi Drop (I don't recommend reading it honestly, you prob won't like it, though the anime was nice) and Hinamatsuri (I should read it too, anyway the anime was very good), and those two have a male main character x)

Childcare is inevitably tied to slice of life, because the child is too weak to go fighting monsters, then he's too grown up to get childcare when strong enough (usually). So when it's present in work with action, the childcare part will be with slice of life, then the action will be with something else, like romance, world building, idk.
Or it could simply be not so focused on the childcare and more on the action theme, but there's childcare in it, just like Peerless Dad (yes, male main character...).

Like you said, the immense majority of female mc with a child have a romance tied to them. Because when the childcare is done, if you want to continue with the story, you need a leading theme; it could be action, etc. and it's very easy to write a romance in that case.

And if you build a story around childcare, like I said, it's not a safe environment for a child if you introduce action every time, so it's not very likely to happen or be well done if written with those parameters.

I think these are some of the reasons why I can't easily recommend you what you asked for.

Well... here's the thing
I categorize all the manga I have into 6 genre folders: Action, Fantasy, Isekai, Romance, Romance-Fantasy, and Mixed-SoL
And I put that manga into "Romance Fantasy" folder
And that's how far I think the manga leans towards one genre over the other.

The romance is very much like Seijo no Maryoku wa Bannou desu
Fairly heavy advances from the male, while the female tries to keep in safe distance.
If you truly don't like romance manga... well... it'll be a slog for sure 😅

I liked it because it has the "secret dark side story" element from the female lead. The art is good. The kid is cute.
Slow burn and believable fantasy.
But... yeah... it's a romance alright

Well, there are single parent childcare manga with no romance, but yeah they're rare with a lot of caveats as you mentioned.
Especially if we're talking in fantasy world and with a female lead.
I mean, there are stuffs like Yotsubato or Gokumama for non fantasy

But for fantasy...
I wanted to put Mechanical Buddy series, but I guess it'll be a stretch to call it childcare, really.
(I put it in Action folder)

Well it's not like Slice of Life is the problem. Manga's I've mentioned in the post are mostly slice of life and have 0 romance. It's just they are "Slice of life" from perspective of "mother" and child, rather than Mother, child, mothers potential love interest, completely focusing on moms and boyfriends love life.

I'm just looking for something wholesome in fantasy world :p
