They made Jack a bit too OP here since she just solo'd Shuten and Raikou but when you think about it more it kinda make sense? Jack was commanded by a serious master who didn't hesitate to use her noble phantasm. It also seemed like Raikou could counter Jack's attack but was distracted with the "mom" thing.

Thank you for the TL! The expressions in this are so raw. Never fails to give me chills.

To be fair, they deliberately set up the perfect situation for Jack.

True, Maria the Ripper was an unequaled Noble Phantasm that delivered instant death in a single blow. All the conditions had been achieved as well—‘night’, ‘within the fog’, and a ‘woman’.
But even if one brought about a phenomenon that twisted cause and effect, a foundation, something to serve as the raw material for it, was still needed.

In this case, Maria the Ripper was, at its essence, a [curse]—the collected grudges of thousands of unborn children. That was the true nature of this fearsome Noble Phantasm.

Accordingly, in order to counter this Noble Phantasm, what was necessary was neither luck nor endurance, but purely an absolute resistance against curses.
1) It is night-time. - Gudako mentioned it is before dawn on Page 1.
2) The target is a woman. - Both enemies are female.
3) It is misty. - They showed Jack using her other NP to release mist.

The dude before me gave a pretty good explanation. There's also the fact that they can allow themselves to freely take hits since they keep regenerating. Shuten especially just enjoys dismembering and being dismembered so I wouldn't be surprised if she's taking hits on purpose. And as you said, Jack's a good counter for Raiko especially because of the whole mom thing.

That is true but I also recall in Apocrypha Mordred dealing with her without getting insta killed. Basically Jack was never portrayed as significantly strong fighter like this which caught me off guard reading this chapter.
