And regarding Alex: Like already posted, that blow ruptured MC's eardrum in the LN and it didn't even really land. Can you imagine the damage caused by that punch, if it would have hit head on?
As for Alex character:

He uses the image of a harsh instructor as a guise. He fucking loves messing with MC in brutal ways. Later it is shown, that he has a superiority complex, always acts condescendingly towards MC and spouts nonsense like, "It can't be! Not to the likes of you!", when defeated in a clear fashion, that made it obvious he IS indeed weaker. He just can't accept it. He is a psychopathic asshole. Egoistic and without an ounce remorse, when threatening others ill.

way i see it, while killing them is obviously messed up, the way he's reacting makes sense.

in real life, if you walked in on someone accidentally while they were changing, mainly due to their own mistake, and they chased you with a gun, how would you feel?

if you were beaten to near death in forced training by an asshole on a daily basis, how would you feel?

i'd definitely become an antisocial cunt, because fuck society. they're the ones who dragged me out of my life and forced me into this bullshit, while expecting me to be their saviour.

@quagzlor Oh absolutely, based on the premise I'm betting he's had to deal with so much shit he's just completely done with it all (gotta surround him with even worse cunts so he looks better by comparison). It's just that the level of casualness he's shown in deciding to kill people for annoying him (such as that one noble, even if he failed from being too weak) really doesn't endear me to this dude.

I checked on NovelUpdates to see how it progresses, based on the reviews and tags it seems

he really doesn't get any better with the whole "murdering people 'cause they're annoying" thing. Worse, if anything.

Chapter one did mention it's only based on the novel and not going to be recreating it directly, though. Time will tell.

If this keeps up, I feel like once I see his companions again, I'd want him to murder them again.
One interesting thing tho, he hinted something bad happened to the summoner who might of only been the good one. has me a little curious.
