If the elves are so accurate with their bows to get a headshot, why kill the hostage first? Couldn’t they like, just put an arrow in his head instead?
Killing off all the witnesses is a good reason, but quite brutal.

I'm guessing it's related to a succession war of some kind. They were all Silvia's followers, so killing them lowers Silvia's military power. Additionally, getting your subordinates killed makes her look even worse. And saving her gives the prince a bunch of bonus points. It's killing three birds with one stone for him.

Its not about freeing them its about him securing the path to throne, its the real reason why hes even there in the first place. Which after all things said and done, its utterly logical and unsurprising for him to show up there. Its more like the manhwa writer was making it a point that this is an assassination plot disguised as a rescue mission by using bows.

Something I have to say about reading trash hero is I am utterly excited for the prospect of future RPGs with the new AI stuff we have. We're pretty much going to inevitably act similarly to him in the whatever skyrim-gpt mod, imagine a series of autonomous agents pretty much acting like this, based upon information they obtain. People have already experimented around with simpler simulations, with autonomous agents actually interacting with each other unprompted. Game stories will now focus more on world building and the characters, rather than a specific plot.

I can't be mad with the prince, in fact, I pity him, for his only sin was being weaker than the mc.... From where he's standing, it must seem like an 18-carat run of bad luck. Truth is... the game was rigged from the start.

An interesting change in Nasus' motives. In the novel the reason he attacked Han Soo was because he had become smitten by Illeana and wanted to take her from him. I honestly like his new motive better, but at the same time it no longer adds to the running theme of love blinding people into making horrible decisions.

Na, trying to kill the Hero is not a bad decision from his POV. He simply believes himself to be stronger, which as we all know, is a terrible mistake. But how should a person know, who only knows his one own reallity, that levels are actually just shit, which values can change more rapidly than the position of a ball in a pinball machine, and terribly lose out to skills, he can't even picture anyone could ever reach or what they do. Just the case of a very smart guy not having enough information.
