That cover is terrifying. It's look those terrible 'How to draw anime" artbooks you find at Hobbylobby or the Dollarstore that have eyes so ungodly large and disproportionate that it fills your dreams with nightmare fuel.
This is at first glance exemplary of the some of the best trash of a decade ago—yet while being so bizarre that I can't tell which parts are intentionally off-the-wall weird versus which are just badly written. In other words, a highly enjoyable read!

Incidentally, I thought the commenter before me was exaggerating a bit, but then in the story itself, her eyes really are so out of whack in proportion that it near-about segues into accidental horror in a couple of the less-important panels.
