Yeh, the 3 sets doesn't make sense to me either. And I must admit 300 is very... weak, I could do that after just one month of lifting in the gym. The 600 im not even close tho, that shit is respectable. Tho I wouldn't know who MC is close by in terms of strenght on the real world.

Hi everyone, scanlator here.

For those confused about the whole reps/totals thing. Yes, there was a translation error. The numbers in the stat box are the sum of the number of kilograms from each one of the three individual exercises. It's been fixed in the latest re-upload.

@Floriano, @brynreich Thanks for noticing and pointing it out.

Also, TN #2: For those thinking that was a gay couple, the Korean name Chorong is female exclusive. So I'm 99.9999% sure the boss of "Kaos" is just a butch lady (they could be an FTM trans dude considering the organ trafficking/ transplants hints in this chapter, but that's going way to deep into headcanon lol).

There's just something super funny about listing off your stats when they ask. I feel this.

If Ji-tae was going to stay off his rocker for the rest of the story, his mental break would have been framed in a positive light. A wake-up call to the cruel realities of the world, or a determined vow to Become Strong No Matter What Evils I Must Commit. (That’s how the traditional edgelord characters begin.)

Which is not what happened; it’s framed as a horrifying, desperate way to cope with the realization that Maria is just using him. He’s making all these creepy, contorted faces designed to unnerve the reader. It’s not “positive growth” within the narrative, so unless the story is supposed to be a slow decline into madness/messing up your life and end on a low note, he’s going to recover somehow and grow from it. (In the case of edgelord characters, their decline is “positive growth” in the eyes of the narrative, so they never snap out of their bullshit.)

Thanks for uploading!
I can’t see ji-tae staying this way for the rest of the story, he’s bound to change back to a stronger version of his previous self like WhoCares said

Just to give more context on the mistranslation, in the fitness world there 3 main lifts known as the big 3: bench press, deadlift and squat. The total of sum of a 1-rep max lift, as in the heaviest weight you can absolutely lift, is used as a measure of strength. 300 kg is a bit above average novice to intermidiate lifter weight (Which is where I currently stand), but getting to 600kg and considering the MC is a manlet is very impressive actually, as it's way above the 1000-lb weight which is considered the strong starting zone. This is also considering his weight and that he isn't training specifically to lift heavy, he is a fighter.

This super helpful article https://www.muscleandstrength.com/articles/strong-strength-standards-raw-natural-lifters has the next quote:

"A 1200 pound 3-lift total (bench press, squats and deadlifts) is more than 95% of gym rats will ever accomplish."
And he is at 600kg= 1322.77 pounds. Just to put it into perspective, this lil young fella is already stronger than most people that routinely and seriously train lifting, the man is quite OP.

I understand the MC mental breakdown, I just can not grasp the time scale of it.. He is in the hospital and suddenly he lost it and is buffed? How much time passed? A few Days? Weeks? Months?

@shase He was already buff before the last couple of chapters. He's been bulking up since his very first fight. It's just that the author used to draw him a lot in a "comedic" style to match his more "innocent" personality. Now he's drawing him looking serious all the time.

Some examples:

Chapter 15 (first official match)

Chapter 31 (after fighting the bullies)

Chapter 63

Chapter 70

About how much time passed since he was at the hospital?
Chapter 73 shows Young-joon at school the very next day, then it jumps to the final exams.

Chapter 74 shows the students seeing the results of the exams and ends with Maria and Ji-tae at "The Tunnel".

So two small time-jumps happen between Chapters 73 and 74. How much time? It shouldn't be longer than 1-2 weeks IMO.
