Yes, the Maria test haha. It's been mentioned/shown multiple times throughout the course of the story that the current first years had a welcome test before the start of the academic year, which consisted of Maria fighting each and every single new student. They placed according to the time they were able to last against her.

It's safe to presume that the other fighters also were whooped by her too, so bubbles likely lasted the longest (if not had the best shot at her, probably attempts a rear naked choke)

Yooo! What a chapter! Tbh I kinda suspected she was the one who placed #1 against Maria, but I didn't expect the fight to have been this crazy.
And that cliffhanger... My money still on Maria tho. If she was beaten in the test we would have been told already.

Oh my god. Well I read the raws so I've known all this for a while but oh my god: this proves something I've thought of for a while, she likes Tae young. She said the exact same thing to her back in chapter 44 and now we know that she says that to those she 'wants' (which in itself is kinda sociopathic). But anyway back to the chapter: I knew that she was amazing from a while back so I'm not really surprised. But it just really hits home how dangerous and how strong she is. She lasted the longest against Maria making her technically the strongest in her class and to be honest, i don't think that title has been taken by hamin. He's strong, but cha sowol seems to be on another level, she's able to generate bloodlust whereas hamin had to learn and polish it to get in the octagon. After seeing this (both the raws and this translated), including the quote the translator made in c44 about how gi baram should be happy that Tae young was still in one piece after yeo eunsol broke up the fight, one thing is near certain: Tae Young's wouldve lost that fight and cha Sowol is fucking terrifying.

I agree about her being the strongest among the current 1st years. The fact the author had to get her disqualified in order to keep her away from the main plot at that point in the story makes me think she would have at least gotten to the final. Both Ha-min and Eun-sol benefited from this while some fighters like Jung-eum and Young-joon got a higher ranking because of this.

I have to say this last stretch of chapters has been nothing sort of amazing. Just as you said it was gonna be. I'm really intrigued about Sowol's past and why she's so suddenly interested in Ji-tae. My guess is she wants to protect him to get in Maria's good graces lol. Where did you say you were reading the raw chapters? At this point I might just spoil myself. @Starstorm1
Also, thank you for your work on the series! I would have never discovered this if you hadn't picked it up and it has really become one of my all-time favorites. You guys stay safe as well. @shinratensei16

2) mylastchance89, I've been reading the raws on lhscan. Or if I want them earlier, I've been buying them (for 26p) on ridibooks, chapter 72 comes out next week on there. As for the webtoon version I've just been reading it on webtoon but there's a site where some chapters have been posted early, it's not perfect and I think they may have missed a part🤣 but they're always earlier than webtoon is. I'm just happy that the manga is being appreciated for all it's greatness. I think what does it for me about this manga is how quickly it changing gears and gets better. As for sowol : I just had a feeling she would be so strong from the fact that we never saw her fight which is the same reason why I believe that gi baram is gonna be the next character to give us chills. This has nothing to do with the current chapters I've read it's just that hes been a bit hidden too so I think there's more to him. My idea is: the less backstory given to you in season 1, the more epic your performance is.

The three characteristics of Cha So-wol in action were like three consecutive punches to the face, Mad Dog doesn't do her name nearly enough justice. I knew she was strong, but I didn't know she was Maria test 1st place strong, jeez. An incredibly hard chin mixed in with her monster judo game makes her a terrifying force, cant wait to see more.
