TLer here, maybe "solved" isn't the right word, but the idea is that it's been fully calculated, that it got to a point where it repeats. "Solved" was the best word I could come up with to mean "Has been fully understood"

I think it not working like that is the point. The cultists believe pi is the spell of destruction and that makes pi the spell of destruction. I may be giving him too much credit though.

I don't know the original Japanese, but maybe "defined" would fit, since pi currently is undefined since it has no discernable repeating pattern yet, hence it being irrational and not rational.
