I mean, am I really supposed to be sad that some streamers got killed by prioritizing their stream over their lives? When you hear "don't look into its eyes" your first thought shouldn't be "oh shit I gotta keep streaming we'll go viral."

Also, I do understand the conflict. Yes, the main duo are basically kids and they never asked for these powers. But if they can help people not die from these aberrations, that would be a real boon.

That being said, the people who want to use them to save others should treat them like actual people if they want to keep them cooperative. It does no good to treat them like dirt.

Well given the series is SCP inspired and SCP has the entire thaumiel classification, I wouldn't be surprised if there were at least a few other aberrants that the SIA uses to help suppress other aberrants. Plus, based on chapter 3, we already know the SIA at least had the holding cell for the object-type aberrant phone, so it's likely they'd have holding cells for other human/humanoid aberrants.

The problem is precisely that they CAN'T bring themselves to treat them like people.
If they treat and see them as just normal teenager girls, as they are besides their power, then they wouldn't be able to stomach to continue sending them to risk their lives, and in case of one of them outright die each time, for the greater good.
It's made quite clear by the end that they have to stop themselves from looking at them as people, or their feelings on the matter would get in the way of them doing their job. A job that includes making the lives of those two girls hell and risking their deaths constantly.
Everyone seems to be stuck doing things they don't want to to keep the unaware public safe.

I like that it's clear the organization staff aren't completely heartless or unsympathetic towards the girls. Other edgy manga would see the girls being mistreated just for the edginess factor.

Here the SZA staff do sympathetize with the girls, but at the same time they need every tool they can get to protect the people from anomalous, reality bending threats.

Kogarashi isn't the bad guy here. If you look at all his interactions with the girls, he's been trying to give Kino a sense of purpose to hold her sanity in her grimdark reality.

He knows that Azu doesn't really need one. She's having fun and indulging in her immortality. Kids like living wild and they believe they're invincible. Azu actually is, and she's living her life secure in that invincibility.

Kino, however, isn't, and she's been forced to carry the burden of Azu's immortality. Kogarashi knows that, and he's been throwing every justification he could think of at Kino in the hope that one would stick and give her a reason to keep on fighting. It's unfair, but it's equally unfair to him because he DOES see them as kids despite what he tells his subordinates.

Also, I like that he isn't the typical edgy Gendo-expy. He actually carries his own weight. It's funny that now we know the reason he has that emotionless look all the time is because he's thoroughly drained from constant exhaustion. That isn't a persona. He's just your typical dead-inside bureaucrat.

My pets are perfectly fine, I just need to exist in a suprastate of petting all furry creatures at once, and I am recruiting everyone reading to help me achieve my apotheosis. Also, you're welcome, glad you're enjoying it!

Thanks for the translation!

Good thing they weren't popular streamers, that could have gone very bad very quickly.

Thank you for the continued translating! nothing much of value to add from me but the characters and worldbuilding are all holding strong, investing in Kogarashi stocks, petting my beloved creature as I type

I kind of like how this series handles moral ambiguity.

This guy here might look like a caricatural evil oji-san but he's not really bad. He speaks without tact but he's really just trying to save more lives and is concerned with the victims.

The most interesting is that how story continues to explore in darker shade of comfortable zone. (Or the lighter shade of uncomfortable zone, depending on what you wanted to look.)

Everyone seems to be good person in good judgement, even they are in struggling condition.

They have to push their personal values aside to continue working together against the endless threats.

Even I'm not sure how it could work, I hope they could keep going like this.

The uncomfortable situation, yet they can't give up.

Though, there are only 4 chapters. I might speak about it too highly.
