You know, the first thing I thought about by the end of the chapter was not about how horrific the situation is, but what the daughter would do if she had to act out an affair where one of the parents started cheating on the other and she had to act out the process of her family being broken up.

I’m too far gone now when it comes to Franken Fran.

That would require her to think that her family is unharmonious enough for her parent to cheat.
Which, given how she is in this chapter, I find very unlikely.

The same way she might find it unacceptable for her boyfriend to refuse 'becoming part of the family'
