Clearly that girl is the king of the beasts of the forest. Also doctor and Co. seem very knowledgeable about everything there like the palm of their hands. Cool .
I didn't find the postscript necessary, as the basic point seemed clear: what Fran & Okita see in the painting doesn't match what Urasawa describes. The additional detail was very helpful, though, as I would never otherwise have caught the game reference or understood its implications. I was expecting an ending in which the gallery owner (seen in the beginning) is delighted by Urasawa's crazy new style.
That first panel showing his new sense of vision was pretty ingenious when you remember that the author has to portray a broadened visual spectrum in a black and white medium.
