Eh, not as good as the comments will lead you to believe, pretty mediocre in both art and plot, definitely forgettable

Don't listen to ickx, they've got horrible taste. The story is fantastic and the paneling is sublime solid 8-9.

Possibly the most tightly written manga ever, bar none. Every time I reread it I discover something new. The setup and payoff is immaculate. It's so rare in a world where most authors end up writing week by week.

Too long, too repetitive, too messy, characters too cold and boring. Read this only if you want to pleasure yourself with never-ending misery and suffering. If you want a bit of grace, read something else.

I stumbled across this manga by complete chance and I'm glad I did because it is one of the most thought provoking series I've ever read. Despite the MC's lack of typical human emotion I feel so many while reading through, it's crazy that a manga with such a dark tone can invoke feelings sure of sadness, melancholy, and depression but also of hope and happiness even some humorous parts here and there.

On an unrelated note this manga reminds me of another I read long ago that I'm trying to find, the only thing I remember is the MC being somewhat similar in that he interacts with people and tries to fit into society but is also broken and unremorseful about killing. I remember a plot point being that he had to paint a wall in his basement with blood from his victims to keep something behind it satiated and dormant. If anyone knows what it is please let me know!

You're thinking of Johnny The Homicidal Maniac, an american comic made by the creator of Invader Zim.

idea of the manga is cool schizophrenic guy that doesnt understand the world or human emotions tries to adapt to the world and understand them but ultimately fails / but sometimes it got really boring, scenes that were completely irrelevant appeared way too often/ backstories about character we do not really care about instead of getting a deeper look into the main character we get to see backstories of the proxy targets that i do not care about at all / there should be more to the whole story of the mc and higuruichi he always talked to her at the cafe in his imagination meaning that the raping heavily impacted him, but in the workplace he rarely interacted with her which makes no sense to me / i do get that the manga wants to bring us into the world and show us whats happening but too many scenes were about people protesting , weapons, politics etc. etc. the manga should be focused more around the MC and what hes gonna do, what he thinks , his backstory, more interactions between him and the girl etc. / overall it felt different to read than other mangas in a bad way, there were so many speechbubbles that were just worthless, no info no joke nothing of essence just written to be written and those texts took so much time out of the manga id say a good 30% of the speech bubbles could be left out and the manga wouldnt change by a bit there is just much to ciritze tbh but i still liked the manga and the mc / the LAST THING is that i understand the mc is detached from reality completely and doesnt carry human emotions but why are you letting a random man rail your girlfriend infront of you like wtf was the mangaka thinking while drawing that ??! 7.2/10
