I already liked Akira even though she came off super strong and seemed a bit scary--it just felt like there had to be more under the surface, given what Yuuki was saying about how she used to be.
This chapter solidifies it. Awesome cousin, and that heart-to-heart between them along with the Big Reveal behind Yuuki's character is why I enjoy this series so much. The author's not afraid to balance out the fluffy yuri with a bit more drama and some heavier elements, but also with actual character velocity and consistent building-out of their respective arcs....and even how they interact and relate to one another.
Yuuki helping Akira out even as the latter was "mentoring" the former was the icing on the cake. Akira might resist hearing her own advice and praise from her cute younger cousin, but it's clear this little excursion of theirs will help her move forward, as well.
I feel like Yuuki's been fully unlocked now. It'll still take time for her to get fully up to speed ("baby steps", after all); but I think Asaka will need to watch out, because her girlfriend's about to stop holding back.
It will be interesting to see what comes of this "trial dating" thing, in the long term. I assume that's still in play as a plot point, though I don't see how they can pull back from this after how in-love they both are with their best friend (each other). But here's to only steps in the upward direction from here on out, come what may.
Thanks for the TL work as always.
